In Windows XP with JAWS

Sending an attachment with an email
Press alt and I at the same time
You will hear… file attachment.
Press enter
Another window will open.
You will hear...file name: edit.
Use the tab keys to move through the different fields.
This first field will eventually contain the title of your attachment.
Do not try to fill this in yet.
The computer will do it automatically after you have completed several other steps.
Tab down 5 spaces.
You will hear…Look in.
This is a combo box.
To move through this box you will need to use your arrow up and down keys.
By default it is usually on my documents.
If the material to be attached is on a thumb drive, external harddrive or in some other place
you will need to press the arrow down key until you hear the drive in which the material to be attached is foun
and press enter.
Tab until you hear…Folder view list view.
This is a list of the documents that are found in the above previously chosen drive.
Arrow until you find the name of the document or folder.
Press enter
(If there are several folders within folders
, you will need to continue the arrowing down process and pressing enter
until you get the final folder that contains the needed document to be attached.)
Then the file name will appear in the next edit field.
Now tab to attach and the file is attached to the email.
You can now send the email or attach another document.
Now press alt and s at the same time to send the email.
